My name is Boris Gouza and I’m using this forum as a place to vent my frustrations. I’ve recently learned that I’ve become a victim of identity theft. It’s one of those things that you never really think about until you start getting random phone calls harassing you about charges you never even made.
So anyway, I had the fortune of learning about this from a cold, uncaring credit card debt collector who told me that I owed the good people of his company (who will remain nameless) $8,000. Of course this came as a shock since I didn’t even have a card from the company he was referring to. Then,
a few days later I got a call from yet another credit card company with a similar claim. Only this time I owed them $12,000. I replied in similar a fashion and started to wonder what the hell was going on. After a few more harassing phone calls, I realized what had happened – someone had stolen my
identity.
Honestly, I’m not even sure how it happened. I guess there are multiple ways that these guys can get your info. I did file a report with the police, and they’re looking into it, but who knows how that’ll turn out. However, in the meanwhile I’ve been getting 10-12 calls a day from creditors demanding
payment. It’s really frustrating; especially since none of them believe me when I tell them what really happened.
Anyway, the point is that whoever stole my identity really screwed me over, so I’m doing whatever it takes to get it back. I’ll write again when I know something.
Boris.
