Where do I go from here?

So I just got off the phone with my PI (actually former PI now that I can’t pay him anymore). He said Messua Auto went out of business, and since I can’t pay him, he’s not going to pursue the lead for
me. At this point, I really don’t know what to do. I’m screwed I guess, it is what it is. Honestly, this blog is getting too depressing to write anymore. Don’t be surprised if this is my last post.

Turning point?

FINALLY! Some good luck has come my way! Well kind of. We’ll see how it plays out. So apparently my PI had been tracking the recent transactions on the cards that were being used in my name. He found out that someone had used my name while trying to purchase a car at some used lot in Seattle. I guess since I had communicated to the credit card company that the card wasn’t mine; they finally wised up and
flagged it so the guy (apparently it was a guy) couldn’t use it.

The place was called Messua Auto. This is big, kind of a breakthrough actually because now I can pinpoint a physical location where the thief has recently been. My PI has been trying to call them, so have I, but they’re not answering. Not sure what their deal is. Wish people would just do their
jobs for a change and pick up the damn phone. Either way, I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Staying Above Water

Ok, so it’s official. My Identity was definitely stolen. Even the credit card companies are starting to come
around to that conclusion. Not that they have stopped bothering me or are helping me find the guy, but at least they’re not threatening legal actions for the moment.

Anyway, I don’t even want to think about what the last 3 months have done to my credit score. I’ll get to that when this is all overSassuming this ordeal ever ends.

I did decide to hire a private detective. I’ll admit, I had to crawl back to my parents and ask for a loan to do this, but I think it was my only option. It’s not like I can just track the thief down myself, obviously it’s not my area of expertise.

This was kind of a big investment, and thanks to the identity thief, I don’t have very deep pockets at the moment, but I have to put an end to this at some point. Fingers crossed.

Staying above water,
Boris
